Ever since I was a child I have felt a strong connection to nature and the spiritual world. It wasn’t until twenty-one, however, that I discovered through my own self-inquiry how to materialize these passions using mediums such as yoga, tarot, herbalism and the arts. In the September of 2000, I earned a certificate of ordination through Solar Cross, an interfaith church. Since then, I have continued to develop my skills relating to energy work and intuition. This has helped me a great deal in learning to interpret the tarot and developing my own spiritual practice. Yoga has been another life enhancing experience, in that it is a beautiful discipline that encompasses many avenues towards understanding the self and feeling connected to the universe as a whole. I have a strong desire to help people achieve their highest good. Teaching yoga and giving tarot readings allows me to do this in a unique and empowering way that serves the community and feeds my soul. In addition to completing an Associate of Science degree in Environmental Horticulture at Foothill College, I also made a job transition to Greenhouse / Horticulture Manager at Carnegie Institute for Science. I am taking a break from teaching public yoga classes, however I still offer my services via house calls or private sessions. Please feel free to contact me at any time to inquire about updates and anything else that may be of interest. Thank you, Dahlia Wist E-mail me: Dahlia Wist |

Schedule a Private Yoga Lesson: I am currently teaching private classes only to students in the San Francisco Bay Area . This is a wonderful opportunity to have a class completely tailored to meet your needs. I will also include a checklist of key postures, breathing exercises, visualizations and stretches to supplement your personal practice. House calls are $75.00 per visit or $275.00 per month. The first 15 miles both ways are included and for each additional mile it is $0.35 extra. To schedule a session or to receive more information, please send me an email or call directly. About Yoga: Hatha yoga is a five-thousand-year-old tradition designed to restore the body from illness and maintain health. Hatha means sun and moon, while yoga means union or integration. Through proper rest, diet, breathing, exercise and meditation the practitioner will develop a balanced and healthy lifestyle resulting in a sence of integration or wholeness. Hatha is just one of eight branches of yoga, and the most commonly practiced in the United States. Yoga is a philosophical study on a system aimed to achieve wellness not a religion; therefore, it is open to everyone! It balances the four aspects of being which include the physical, spiritual, emotional and mental. This balanced perspective forms a connection to inner wisdom, guiding us to do what is right for our bodies. Students can learn to listen to their bodies by picking up cues as to how deep to stretch, or if a pose does not work for them. For students who are interested, more explanation of the spiritual aspect of yoga will be addressed in workshops specifically focusing on meditation (introspective concentration) and pranayama (breath exercises and control). Although I have been exposed to yoga since I was a child, my personal practice began several years ago. Since then, I have become more aware and in control of my life. I have increased energy, endurance and a greater sence of well-being. I teach yoga to share and promote the rewards I receive from my own practice by helping others to improve their quality of life. My style is a combination of Iyengar and Vinyasa traditions. I am certified through Erich Schiffmann, and Yoga Educational Seminars with Joyce Anue, which is recognized by the Yoga Alliance. Some other teachers I have studied with include Kali Ray, Julianne Rice, and Lisa Walford. All classes include pranayama (breath control), visualizations, and savasana (deep relaxation). Because there are adaptations to all yoga postures, I can help you receive their benefits regardless of physical limitations. If there are stretches that are uncomfortable, ease up and ask me for an alternative. It is more important to do the exercises with ease and modifications than trying to do them perfectly with strain. Remember that yoga is a noncompetitive form of exercise, which means to not compete against or compare yourself to other students. To progress in yoga, self discipline must be learned by controlling your thoughts and actions to be more attentive and aware of your body. E-mail me: Dahlia Wist |

Scheduling a Tarot Reading: Readings consist of an eighteen-card life spread that is outlined for your reference. It is best to allow up to two hours for the reading to discuss its interpretation. I do house calls for $75.00 per reading. The first fifteen miles both ways is included. Each additional mile is 0.35 cents extra. To schedule an appointment or receive more information please send me an email or call directly. About the Tarot: The tarot originated in Europe around 1600 in a time when flash cards were commonly used for education, inventory and story telling. Early decks combined elements of Celtic lore and Christianity in the form of pictures depicting a variety of life conditions that trigger powerful reactions as they shed light on the unconsciousness. Tarot decks are comprised of 69 cards. Through a variety of spreads and guided interpretation, the seeker can discover the tools and self-awareness needed to advance on ones own life path.
